Another Enough Mommy Moment

Middle son is hanging out with me in the living room, just back from a friend’s house. We are chatting about our days. We can hear a fight breaking out in the kitchen between beloved daughter and youngest son over the computer.

I tell middle son, “When I was younger, my deepest wish was to create a happy family.”

There is more squabbling in the kitchen.

Middle son replies, “What makes you think you haven’t?”

  1. I agree with middle son — you sound like a great mom, & I love this
comment. Sounds like Middle Son shares your sense of humor/spirit.

  2. Awww! He is sooo your son!!

  3. I think you have the happiest family possible with four intelligent, driven, intense and independent people living under one roof. It’s amazing your house hasn’t imploded yet. Whatever you’re doing, it’s working.

  4. We are back from a visit to oldest son and daughter-in-law, which involves 8 hours in the car to get there, a couple kids sleeping on couches while there and an 8 hour drive home. And we didn’t implode then either. Amazing!

  5. I love this story! A happy family is a vibrant entity, sometimes messy, always lively!
